I’m a keen crafter and have been for years – I love all types of things, sewing, knitting, making cards, basically making anything. I love to give things to people and know that a little piece of myself has gone into it, and that there’s not another one quite like it in the world.

When I started I was earning a lot of money (relatively speaking) and so I spent half my life and a good chunk of my money in craft stores. I made very fabulous things!

But then I realised that it was costing me more to make stuff than to buy it. Plus buying all the component pieces meant I was doing a lot more assembling than actually creating which seemed to fly in the face of the idea of originality.

Then I left my well paid job to pursue my dream of professional photography (which is a lot less well paid), and I didn’t have the money to spend anyway.

So I decided to see what I could make from scraps, bits, bobs, odds, ends, and generally anything that was kicking around that I no longer had use for. The goal is to give gifts and cards that express how I feel about people, are original and handmade but don’t cost the earth – in either sense… Anything I come across that gives ideamoney saves money I’ll gladly  share here in the hope it helps…
